Important update for
jackie’s supper club

Hi everyone,
After feeding families across the Bay Area through Jackie's Supper Club for more than two years, our team has made the very difficult decision to close operations.
Our final week of delivery will be Monday, June 22nd.
Our mission has always been to provide tasty, homey, and high quality meals to as many families as possible, and I hope that care is reflected in our deliveries week after week. So many of you have become friends, familiar names, and people who have been part of our journey.
Thank you all for this incredible experience. Although I'm incredibly sad to share the news today about our meal delivery service ending, I know that this is just the beginning. I've shared a bit more below on our background, next steps, and how you can help.
Background
Jackie's Supper Club started with humble origins: 12 customers in week 1, and amazingly nearly half of them are still with us today. During this time, we underwent many changes: moving from a shared commercial kitchen to our own dedicated space, experiencing several staffing restructures, and establishing dedicated delivery driver routes, to name just a few. We are now at week 116, and typically serve around 60 families each week. I am incredibly proud of how far we've come and how many people continue to express interest in joining us each week.
Jackie's Supper Club was the original business that gave me the confidence to leave my corporate job and pursue my own venture. I have a very strong emotional attachment to this business, so this was a very difficult decision for me.
Why now?
For over half a year now, we have consistently operated at or above capacity - those of you who have joined us recently know that we have had a wait list for many months now. Bringing up our operations has been an important goal since day one, but we've found a practical limit to what can be achieved while maintaining the quality and consistency we strive for. We considered simplifying the menus, but that wouldn't stay true to what I want the Supper Club to be.
This is a very personal business, and that's what our entire team loves about it. Personally, I still get quite upset whenever there are misses,even if it's as small as a missing sauce, because I know it makes the entire meal that much better. Given the level of care this business requires, I dedicate a good amount of my time each week to the Supper Club. However, this has become increasingly difficult over the past half year.
As many of you already know, we opened up Yuja last year, a fast casual Asian restaurant in San Francisco with a range of signature bowls inspired by some of the favorites from Jackie's Supper Club. The goal here is once again to provide delicious balanced meals, but at a more accessible price point that can reach an even wider audience.
I have big goals for Yuja, and I know that we can bring a similar quality of food you all know and love to more people. Even better, it can be closer to your homes and made fresh daily in a space where you can enjoy it with friends, family, or simply by yourself. To make that goal a reality, I need to devote significantly more time and effort to making Yuja the best that it can be. So while I love the Supper Club and will miss it dearly, I know that this is the right time to say farewell.
Next steps
We have an incredible team at Jackie's Supper Club, most of whom already also work at Yuja as well. During this upcoming transition phase, we will work with each and every employee to support them as we find new schedules and/or roles that work best for them.
After our final delivery on June 22nd, you are welcome to keep/reuse/donate any cooler bags, tupperware, and reusable ice packs from your deliveries. There is no need to schedule a pickup after June 22.
